The Mediterranean Conference Centre hosted the largest conference ever held at the Centre as it welcomed over 2,300 delegates from ICN member associations from around the globe for the International Council of Nurses Conference 2011. Practically every single room of the Centre was used as the conference included a series of plenary and main sessions, symposia, network meetings, concurrent sessions, poster sessions and an exhibition. Major issues addressed during the conference included the nursing workforce and workplace, ethics/human rights, clinical care and patient safety amongst others, whilst the bottom line of the conference is to seek to identify the priorities and future directions of the nursing profession.
